The song "Love in Deepspace" revolves around a character named Valko, introduced as the sixth love interest on June 22, 2026, with a planned debut of July 9, 2026 in the game, Love and deepspace.
Cancellation and Community Backlash
Unfortunately, this debut never materialized. A faction of the Chinese player base heavily criticized the character's appearance, deeming him unattractive. The backlash escalated into severe harassment directed at the developer, Infold, including death threats, the delivery of funeral flowers, and cow dung.
Consequently, Infold permanently canceled Valko, effectively removing him from the game. This decision alienated a large portion of the global player base outside of China who supported the character, making many feel that the developers sided with the hostile subset of the community while disregarding international fans.
Player Response and Advocacy
In response to the cancellation, thousands of players initiated a boycott. This resulted in significant financial losses, a drop in social media followers, and a sharp decline in the game's Google Play store rating—plummeting from 4 stars to 1.4 stars amidst a wave of critical reviews.
To advocate for Valko's return, the community engaged in several positive initiatives, including:
